Refošk Alda is a wine of strong identity – a wild elegance that merges the variety’s power with the finesse of slow aging. It is a boutique selection from the Alda line, made from carefully selected grapes grown on limestone slopes at the southern edge of the Vipava Valley. Fermentation is spontaneous, with 20% whole berries and 3 weeks of skin contact. The wine then matures for 24 months in oak barriques.
This method allows Refošk to reveal its noblest form – structured, fresh, and mineral-driven. The wine displays a deep ruby color with violet reflections – dense and nearly opaque.
Aromas
The nose reveals dark forest berries (blackberries, blueberries), black cherry, a touch of smoke, freshly ground pepper, rosemary, and an earthy minerality characteristic of limestone soils
